MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENTS

Motorcycle accidents are 32 times more likely than automobile accidents to result in death, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Even for those wrecks that don't result in a fatality, the likelihood of serious bodily injury is much higher for motorcycles - especially if the rider has failed to wear a helmet.

Studies have shown that in a crash, a rider without a helmet is five times more likely to suffer a serious head injury. With the rising popularity of motorcycles, there has been a comparable rise in motorcycle accidents statewide, both fatal and non-fatal.
